About this publication
An evidence-led publication on what AI is doing to the software companies rent, and what they can replace it with.
Most writing on whether AI will kill SaaS is either investment commentary or vendor marketing. This publication takes the question from the buyer's side: what the evidence shows, which tools are exposed, and what a company can do at its next renewal.
Who it is for
Finance directors, operations leads, IT managers and owners who sign software renewals and want to know whether to renew, renegotiate or replace. We assume readers care more about their own subscription list than about share prices.
How it is made
The analysis draws on published research, market reporting, regulators' guidance and vendors' own pricing and product pages. Every fact links to its source with the date we read it. The AI-native replacements are compared on six published criteria, described on the methodology page.
The main analysis is reviewed at least once a quarter and whenever material new evidence appears. Pages show their last update and a short change log.
Ownership
This publication is produced by the team behind OpenLazarus, one of the products compared. OpenLazarus is assessed on the same criteria as the other products, with its limits stated alongside theirs.
